July 23, 2021

Dear Members,

As of yesterday, July 22nd, Essex County moved up to the “Very High Risk” or “Red Category” for COVID-19 infection rate. As a result, the Diocese is advising that all Essex County parishes not open this Sunday, July 25th, for in-person worship services or meetings.

Therefore, our service for this Sunday at the Cathedral is being cancelled. The service will be on Zoom only. The bulletin will be emailed to you with the same Zoom information that we use each Sunday.

The cancelling of the in-person worship service is in compliance with state regulations and is being done for our safety and welfare.

Faithfully,
Wardens
Eric Ofosuhene and Gordon Nelson Jr.

Welcome back to Trinity + St. Philip's Cathedral

A big thank you to the following folks who came in on Saturday, July 10th to make sure the Cathedral was ready for Sunday service: Gordon Nelson, Vanessa Hill, Gail Barkley, Jerome Boyd, Theresa Marshall Thomas, Yvonne Daly, Derrick Dixon and Cecil Broner. 🙏🏾

How wonderful and glorious it was to have church after 17 months of pandemic shut down. The Rev. Canon Andrew R. Wright, ThD. was our Preacher and Celebrant. It was a heartwarming experience to have family and friends in this space.

Future services at the Cathedral will be on: July 25th and August 1st at 10:00 am

Homecoming is being planned for September. Stay tuned for details.

And special thanks to Mark Page who is the officiant conducting our Zoom Sunday services.

Welcome Back. 🙏🏾

Trinity and St. Philip’s Cathedral will reopen for services staring Sunday, July 11, 2021 at 10:00am. Canon Andrew R. Wright will officiate the service. The Holy Eucharist will be celebrated with bread only. The wafers will be individually wrapped and no wine will be presented.

Since COVID is still an issue, social distancing will be practiced and wearing a mask is requested.

Future services will be on July 25th and August 1st.

Diocesan Communion November 8, 2020

TSP Cathedral’s steeple rises above the fall trees. The Men of Trinity set up for communion in the parking lot behind 2 Park Place. The Diocesan Prayers of the People, prayer sheet and consecrated wafers are placed on the table. Our Eucharistic Visitors are set to begin their journey to distribute contact free communion to those at home.

Parishioners and Canon Clark came on foot and in their cars to receive the Body of Christ.

Eucharistic Visitors on their home visits.

Thank you to Bishop Carlye, The Dioceses and TSP Cathedral parishioners who helped to make this opportunity to receive communion a success. God bless!
